Fishy Love

Have I mentioned that I love Stampin Up treat cups?  I've used both the round shaped and heart shaped cups and I don't know which I like better.  A while back, I the heart shaped cups on major sale and I bought, like, 12 packs of them.  Now I wish I would have bought the same number of round cups too!  The possibilities are endless with these cute cups!  I used the heart ones for Valentine's Day (duh) on these cards:

I love both styles, but my OCD was driving me crazy with the different colored candy hearts.  After I put them in the cup, I had to quickly seal it up because I wanted to sort the colors so badly.  Can anyone relate??

For the round treat cups, I obviously thought they would be perfect as centers of a flower.  I'm not exactly as thrilled with how these turned out, so I'm working on another style. 

I just got the cutest Stampin up stamp set and knew right away that the round treat cups would come in handy.  My 4 nieces (triplets plus one...my sister the Breeder) love anything fishy/sea/water so I made these for them.  I think they went over quite well.  The sentiment  and inside fish are from a Close To My Heart stamp set that I've had forever but never used.  How sad, right?  I just LOVE this card and will be making more in the future.  I think the next card will have the whales on Action Wobbles.  Can't you just see them swimming through the water?

 

 

Treat cup card

Stampin Up had their heart-shaped treat cups on sale, so I bought a whole bunch.  Of course, I had to order the heart punch and stamp set that went with them.  I put away my new Silhouette machine and cracked out my Gypsy and Expression for this project.  I am so happy with this card, I made them for my 4 nieces.   I'm not sure which one I like better.  The OCD in me likes the all red one, but the candy hearts are a staple of Valentine's Day. 

Valentine's Day boxes

Is it too early to start working on Valentines?  I'm co-hosting a Kids Class Valentine class next week where the girls will create 30 candy boxes, fill with candy and attach a little tag.  The box came from one of my Creative Memories cartridges and the tag was made with my new Silhouette Cameo machine, which I LOVE!!!  I cut two different sizes, 2 inches and 2.5 inches. I really like the smaller size, it's just so cute!!  The paper was from an old DCWV stack that I use to make my samples.  I'm not sure which paper we'll actually use for the class, maybe a few different patterns for the kids to choose from.  I'm thinking of using red Hershey Kisses for the smaller one and the Hershey Nugget bars for the larger one. 

Imagine that!!

I FINALLY learned how to use "regular" cartridges in my Cricut Imagine and I've been having a ball playing around!  I grabbed my Tags, Bags Boxes and More cartridge, my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge and my Berries and Cream Imagine cartridge and made  the cutest milk carton box that will be perfect for Valentine's Day treats.  I also used my new Cricut Glitter pens to write the sentiment in the heart because my handwriting is pure rubbish!! Even though my bow is a little off, I'm happy with how it turned out, especially for a first draft.

Valentine Trend Class @ JoAnn's

Ok, everyone.  I'm teaching my first class at Joanns next week.  Saturday (2/11) is Open House where people can sign up for any of the classes they offer and half price.  I'll be there with my little samples, praying at least one person signs up.  If anyone is in the Sugar Land area of Texas, I would love to meet you!  The class is going to be on Monday the 13th of February from 10-12 and we're going to be making a Sour Cream container, Matchbook cover, Clear Window Pillow Box and a Valentine card for your special someone.  (We'll make a few if we have the time)  Here are some samples:

More Valentines

I have been so busy making Valentines projects for 2 classes that I have not had any time to post pictures.  I already posted the cupcake postcard, matchbook candy covers and the spinner card. Well, here are the other projects.  The Sour Cream container has M&M's inside, but you can put any kind of small candy.  Don't put too much, though, or it won't shake properly. 

The next project was a heart shaker card.  It turned out super cute! 

The last card was one of my favorites.  It was  made with only Creative Memories products.

Now I'm working on Spring/Easter projects.  I have a really fun card that I made today but I can't post it until I get permission from the lady who owns the blog that I found it (does that make sense?).

More Valentines

This is a simple cupcake postcard that is perfect for a child's classroom swap.  On the back, I'll stamp  "To/From" and it's done.  Super easy!  The cupcake came from the Cricut cartridge American Alphabet that was pre-loaded on my E2 and was cut at 5 inches.  The papers are from K&Company and each page is cuter than the previous.  Usually I'm thrilled to be able to use 2-3 of the papers in a stack, but with this one I'll be able to use every page! 

I'm working on a Valentine class so will be posting more picture of the projects I'll be teaching.  There are a bunch of projects, so the girls will be very busy!!

Matchbook candy covers

The two matchbooks hide a packet of Fun Dip.  The Bee is from Create A Critter, the hearts are punched from my Creative Memories punch and the sentiment is a little stamp from a Close To my Heart set I've had forever.  To add more dimension, the bee is popped up on an Action Wobble so she dances.  If you have never used Action Wobbles, you are missing out!!  I use them as often as I can!  Which of the covers do you like better?

Valentine Spinner Card

I just LOVE spinner cards!  They are super easy to make and make such cute, interactive cards.  Once finished, I could play with it all day (ok, I'm easily entertained).  This one I will be teaching as part of a Kids Kamp.  We'll be making Valentines for their parents, a different one for their teacher, sour cream containers and matchbook Fun Dip candy covers for their friends.  This is the spinner card and I'll post the other ones when I've made the samples.  The frog is a dimensional sticker I picked up at the local craft store and the sentiment was printed from my computer.  His little face makes me laugh every time he spins across the card!
